Getting in the electrical mode to rebuild some electric and hvac items.
Had some smoking wires and a smoking delay relay on a coach, so I need to get my head around the syatem and what i need to replace, clean and fix to get the fan motor operating proper, and probably the ac clutch too.
Why is the "horn relay" so dang expensive???
I have read up on the sites, and have wiring diagram. My plan is to replace the fusable links, clean and if needed replace the ring terminals and then connector terms. Have a new delay relay to install and will replace the fan relay, and it is getting a new fan.
Now there is a "horn relay and buzzer" on the wiringndiagram and i belive i know what item that is under the hatch. I come up with a napa hr133? $85??? Ouch.
How often do they go bad?? Probably something i will just clean, or should i replace it??

IF it ain't bad, don't replace it. Doing a little preventive maintenance by disconnecting and polishing up some connectors is a good idea. Anti-oxidation grease and a few star (tooth) washers on some connections are a good idea also.

agreed, replacing a working part with an unknown and probably vastly cost reduced part made by the lowest bidder is not an improvement.

I replaced my dead horn relay with a standard format relay for less than $3.00 and got that infernal buzzer vanquished to the idiot zone where it was developed and implemented. Had to replace all the terminals on the wires due to corrosion from moisture combining dissimilar metals.

Thanks Jim, I have you in my phone. You have the same horn relay listed on your website for big $$'s too. Rockauto and there shipping is not saving anything, Looks like that is just what the OEM part costs, I can see some cheaper aftermarket alternatives, but I think we will leave the old one in place.
as for other wiring issues going on with that Coach, I think I have it narrowed down to the crappy job the PO did on some wiring as usual. I am hoping the harness we saved off another coach will match up with this 77, and I can get it back closer to stock. At least fix the poor connections that is starting to show itself now.
