R22 has been used in home system for a very long time. And that is being fazed out. As I think 410 is the replacement. Then there are even more for specific systems. I don't see it as a good idea. It's boiling points. Emery will know the reasons. Bob Dunahugh

410 is another animal it doesn't replace R22 like 134A replaces R12. You need to replace the equipment not just change the type of oil and charge with the new refrigerant. Since the pressures are much higher then R22 a different charge manifold and hoses are needed also. There are other replacement refrigerants however but likely not as good as R22 since I retired from the trade 20 years ago I haven't used any of them.
