OK, I just got off the phone with River Vista Resort. Their change in reservation systems has royally screwed up their reputation... but they're trying to correct it. I have four confirmed reservations, for which I paid them and the recipients have paid me:

Johnny Bridges
Billy Massey
Bob & Sandra Price
George and Joan Zhookoff

They're covered, the park has your name on a space. I paid them and reserved five spaces last October, somehow they have managed to also reserve the fifth for two other GMCers. I told them I consider that an internal problem and look forward to their resolution. Since I am a Good Guy, and since they're being reasonable and apologetic, and since I haven't committed that space (because the screwup first appeared last November), I told them if they can resolve it and get me the fifth space let me know posthaste, and if they can't do so, refund the money when I get there. I'll report back as soon as they contact me.

I guess I'm a lucky one. They had my reservation for Saturday through Tuesday with no problem. Probably good to check though!

They had four of mine, only the fifth one got hashed. In November when this came up, the Reservations Person was snippy and unhelpful. Changes have been made. I noted today "The lady wnated me to call somebody else, etc." and the reply was "No longer with the firm." So, they're trying to unsort the mess.

We all need to 'double check' our reservations. Mine is good and I was able to add an extra day early.
Amazing how some other parks are using this event for price gorging. Reading some RV blogs, they have instituted minimum length stays and extreme rates.
There may be 2 spots available, with some cancellations.

Check out hotel pricing! Of course they are, people are coming from all
over the world. No cruise ships for this one (well, on the Mississippi
there is).

Yesterday, the U.S. Post Office issued a stamp block, celebrating the eclipse event.

And it is an interactive stamp. Put your thumb on the sun and the heat will
make it go dark, imitating the eclipse. Remove, wait and the sun will
reappear. Definitely very cool!
