We recently took a rock to the passenger windshield and the insurance company is going to replace it, any recommendations for a source for the glass ( we're going to pay to have the drivers side replaced at the same time) and a company in the Minneapolis/St Paul area?

Thanks,
Rick

I had my drivers side replaced a couple of years ago and used a local
installer. He insisted on using his contacts and it ended up costing me
more for the glass than what I could get the windshield from Applied. I
was charged extra for shipping and crating. Insurance won't pay for the
crating but paid for shipping.

Thanks Bruce, I gave the insurance person the information for Applied GMC right away so hopefully I can avoid the shipping/crating issue.

If you want to wait for 3 months and are attending the GMCMI rally in Elkhart, we will be having the windshield installation guys there again.

Shipping and packaging are normal costs for getting a windshield(s) to your location if you are not in one of the 4 cities where the windshields are warehoused. If you are in one of the 4 cities you still have to pay someone to pick them up and transport them to your work / installation location. So the cost is hidden somewhere in the price because the installer and / or owner paid it somewhere. These things do not move for free.

I knew I should not have made the posting.

I have not set this up yet. I have a verbal agreement from the guys to do it. I called the warehouse to alert them we will need probably 25 to 30 windshields at the end of September and I notified Kim. Kim will announce this when we get closer to the date.

I'll take your name at this time but please check up on me to make sure I put it on the list when I get it set up and formally announced.
