Well, on our trip up to Maine from Fort Myers Florida my backside is really getting SORE....
IS there a replacement for the oem seats, something that bolts directly or with a little work? Or will getting them reupholsted do the trick.
This is our maiden voyage beyond 1000 miles, GMC mechanically is doing great.

I used GM minivan 2nd row seats. Not a direct bolt in but an easy bolt only fabrication, meaning no welding. Quite comfortable due to the modern adjustments.

Many seats will fit. Most have had very good luck with the second seats from various mini-vans. Look for seats that have arm rests on both sides. Honda, Chrysler seats are common enough in your men's mall. I used seats from a Mazda van. You could also look for wrecked rv's. The smaller unit seats should be easy to transfer to GMC usage.
Or bite the bullet and get Flexsteel's. They work extremely well.
Adapting vans seats generally just needs bolts (grade8) and perforated angle iron. The non-sloping seat bases are the easiest to use.
Since you are in Florida, check with Jim Bounds or Jeff Sirum. They have done many seats and might even have some in stock. When I needed front seats, Jeff had exactly what I needed. Call and ask.
