hey Dutch Marc,
Sorry for the late reply. (i JUST got internet connected down here in TJ, … so just now catching up).

Most RVers will be fine with a pair of Costcos… especially if your generator is in good working order
for when you need heavy lifting, like running the old stock vacuum cleaner, etc.
In our case, with 1000 watts of solar panels and a 2800 watt Magnum sine wave inverter;
we rarely use our generator; but a 2-battery bank is not nearly enough for such usage, including a mini music studio
(We run 4 batteries in the front and 2 in the back,… 2 banks, switchable)

If you’re only doing infrequent inverter usage and don’t want to deal with dual battery banks (and running extra cable, fuses, etc);
then a possible happy medium is the slightly larger pair of batteries in the same stock space. (but you gotta do the math to see if that makes enough of a difference, vs adding 2 more batteries)

I got (4) US 125 XC2 6v batteries (242 amp hour) at Battery Town Costa Mesa CA for $135 each after core swap.
I chose these because we need maximum reserve capacity for the limited space…. every little bit helps;
so that’s why i went with 125’s instead of standard T-105.
((We actually had been running (6) Trojan T-145’s the past 8 years,
but they’re an inch higher, and therefore can cause problems with the tranny shifting linkage up front!))

Any other questions, Let me know…
We’ll be wiring these up next week… AFTER they finish welding the cracked aluminum body mounts,
replacing the radiator, valve cover gaskets, rebuilding steering box, exhaust manifold gaskets…
Yeah, a whole lotta front end stuff this week!

cheers,
Greg / SolarSonic / usually in Los Angeles,.. back in June
