I followed Hal StClair's diesel conversion with great interest not because of the Diesel part of it but because I was in AWE of his fabrication skills. I'll admit to being a pretty good fabricator myself but Hal makes me look like a hack.
At the Shawnee rally, Carolyn and I visited his Royale (awesome) and Hal showed me a magazine article on his bus conversion. I was impressed with his skills before but on his bus conversion, Hal took a metric bus that was narrower than the 102" allowed in the US. In order to maximize room, he SPLIT THE COACH DOWN THE MIDDLE AND WIDENED IT! Now think about that a while. Think about all the 'things' that have to be changed, all the cross members, steering, floor, roof, motor mounts, sheet metal, and on and on and on.
Amazing craftsmanship. Amazing craftsman.
