While we're discussing 12V electrics. Does anyone know the routing of the battery cable going to the rear batteries from the boost solenoid in an Eleganze II? I note that mine is growing green grot around the connector crimp, and the insulation has hardened and is flaking. Truly an excuse for a fire, so it's up for replacement. It appears to run directly to the rear solenoid in the genset compartment. Once I confirm this I'll cut the ends and replace it with a run of large capacity welder's cable (which I can source from Craigslist). If I can remove the old one I will, but if it's runbehind the walls and through the ribs of the coach it will remain in place. The new one will run along the driver's side frame rail.

It will tough getting that old cable out, as it was installed & run through ribs, etc. before the foam insulation was blown in. In some areas it was protected by corrugated plastic sheathing, in other areas no sheathing. That lack of protection was the subject of a service bulletin and maybe even a campaign by GMC.
Your plan to install new welding cable is a good one. I would suggest 0000 cable, and am sure I do not have to tell you to paw special attention to clamping it and protecting it as it goes through bulkheads, etc.

Thanks, what I figured. It ain't going through bulkheads, I'll run it inside the frame rail. Plenty of tie down spots along there.
