I had seen these before. Have photos if interested. But never really thought about why they were so big. They were produced by Donaldson Industrial Air filter Co of Canada. Were offered as a GM factory installed option on Chevy, and GMC pick ups from 1/2 ton up. This same size filter was used on all engine sizes including the largest diesel. This one came off a 1/2 ton Chevy with a 4.3 V6. Listed as a heavy duty air filter for extremely dusty conditions. And we have a lot of gravel roads. This gets me a larger filter size then the cone K/N unit. And then a much smaller micron filtration. Thus better filtration then the K/N. Perfect. Bob Dunahugh 78 Royale Iowa

Found this one at the Man Mall today. $5. Was in a 96 Chevy pick up. 4" ports in, and out. The air filter is 7"dia, and 11" long. Even has a restriction gauge. Mounting it behind the left headlight. With this one. I can even use my grill air scoop. This WILL flow air.

Hi Bob,

Does the wheel well liner fit with that filter set up? Looks like it would interfere.

Billy,

The part number for the filter is 19201265. It's also discontinued
and there's no dealer stock, according to the computer. It's last
year of usage was 2000. Strictly a Men's Mall part.

Billy,

The air cleaner element should be a Wicks 46441.

Bob, nice, clean installation. How did/will you deal with the valve-cover breather?
