There are several which work, both with and without battery minders included. As to the racket the original Sola supply makes, you can usually shut it up by tightening the bolts which hold the transformer together and putting some rubber under it. If you keep it, get a battery minder style trickle charger and put a switch in the battery positive. If you leave power on the coach, the original supply will overcharge it eventually. Both my coaches have outboard house battery chargers, one is solar the other a plug-in. Both do a good job. I use the original out of the 23' as a 12 volt bech power supply.

Best one on the market. But you really only need a 45 amp charger.
They're a little cheaper.

If you have an Avion you can mount this unit on top of the plastic fender
well under the wooden shelf under the sink. You can see the wire from the
Charge Wizard going under the shelf in the photo below.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6546-under-double-trouble-27s-bathroom-si
nk.html

You have to remove the insulation that Avion covered the fender well with.

That's where mine has been since 2008 without any negative effects.

You will also have to replace the 40 amp fuse that goes to the rear battery
with a 60 amp device. I changed it to a circuit breaker.

Sorry,

You'll need to copy and paste them in your browser as the GMCnet broke them
into two lines.

However, it would be a waste of time as you don't have an Avion.

Excuse my ignorance, if I buy the 45 amp charger I can replace the older buzz box without making any other changes?

Yes, but you may have to run a ground bonding wire to the aluminum house frame if there is not one already there.

Sir, if your OEM buzzbox has house fuses mounted internally you will need a separate fuse bar or box to wire in and mount. On scale 1-10, maybe a 2.

The linked photos shows my current converter connections. I identified the red power and ground wires that will connect to the new converter and the receptacle for the plug. I haven't removed it so I don't know for sure if it has internal fuses but I've included an interior shot for discussion. The converter is under rear cabinets and only accessible from the side.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/old-converter/p62204-old-converter.html

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/old-converter/p62205-inside-old-converter.html

If a fuse is needed, is an inline type adequate protection or is there another type that I should get. Also, the new converter instructions indicate a separate chassis ground is required which I will install.

Thanks in advance.
