A while back I made a build thread where I rebuilt a stock wheel using wood and wrapped it with leather. A few people mentioned that they would prefer to see one done without the wrap, so here it is. Mr. Boyd kindly donated a few wheels to the cause (1 stock and 2 Caddy wheels) and I finally got around to rebuilding a stock one. I used alder this time and matched the grain (unlike the last one ). It's been finished with three coats of tung oil, but I could add some more to make it more glossy.
Anyways, now that it's done, we (Mr. Boyd and I) were thinking of auctioning it off (either on here or through EBAY?) and donating proceeds to charity. There is a program in Uganda that our family supports (started by someone at our local church, www.hishope.org), but I'm open to other options as well. Would there be any interest in this arrangement?
