I have a white ground wire that goes to one of the four screws that hold the gauge unit in the tank. A red wire that goes to the terminal. And have no continuity between them. ( this is a Royale ) So I think the sender has passed on. I think I was told that I need another ground wire. Remember. I'm no sparky. I had to take a cabinet out to get to this. I'm not happy. You might try removing just the plastic part with the dial from the body. The back of it has a metal point that is supposed to make contact with the metal body. Ours had a little corrosion there and worked again after scuffing with scotch brite.
