Hello All, just a quick question regarding the flange seal removal... I removed the toilet (Thetford Aurora) and would like to remove the flange in order to replace it before the new flooring goes in.

I've tried to pull and pry, gently, to no avail, is there a trick to this or do I simply apply more pressure and it pop's right out?

If there is a trick like spraying some silicone or other idea before I break something please let me know?

Thanks again,
Mike

it should spin out(threaded). not saying someone did not glue it, but it should be threaded on the 3" pipe.

I made a custom wrench.

Look at my blog:

scroll down to find the picture of the tool I welded up.

As Jon says "your experience may be different" but the flange on my coach unscrewed. I made a tool from wood. Some report using a pliers.

Mike,

I did a custom wrench too, but it was two 1/4 inch screws pushed into holes in a 2X4. Then I had to band saw the ends off the 2X4 because the piece picked off the stack was too long to swing in the space by about 1-1/2".
