Welcome Graham.

Wait a little while. We have a lot of BC, Alberta, Washington, and Oregon GMCers on here. It is just a little early in the morning for them to be on here.

The previous recommendation for Jim K. at Applied GMC is a good one. I'm just suggesting that you wait to see if anyone closer to you has one.

I'm pretty sure any Zip Dee approved retailer can get you one. This link will take you to Canadian dealers:

http://www.awningsbyzipdee.com/canada.html

However, if you are planning to do it yourself, might as well get one from Applied as it will absolutely, 100%, be the correct one with the correct pieces for your coach.

Zip dee is the best, and should last forever.(the one on my coach was from the 80's). You can go to Jim K, or direct to zip dee. not cheap, going to run you $2000.

Shipping an awning sucks and is not cheap. 18' long, and they stick you good for the shipping on that oversized stuff. I have seen quotes for $350-500 just for shipping.

Jim can also get lesser cost awnings, but they are different mounts, and different fit. and I am not sure if there is many 30-40 year old non-zip dee awnings out there still working 100%.

if you do go with a zip dee, reach out and can walk you through installation. They are pretty simple to install on our coaches.

Used awnings are a trick to find.

We are in Northern CA, we deal with lot of the people in BC.
Suggest the Zip Dee awning, as it is the best one.
We also supply all the other brands.

With Zip Dee's?!?

I'd like the list, too! My old Fiamma/Dometic was a PITA - until I finally tore it off. To add insult to injury, it appears that my GMC had a Zip Dee at some point in the last 40 years...

The zipdee is the best for sure. Jim K did the best working with the factory in Ill. to get the best price and best shipping. You do have to do the install, but it is not to tough and the instructions are top notch. Ours was installed 3.5 years ago. M Schultz

Zip Dee is the best and most satisfactory awing you can buy for our GMC's, and with out any drought, Jim Kanamata at Applied GMC is your BEST source. I ordered our awning through Jim who, had it dropped shipped to the rally location in Coos Bay. I screwed it on our coach without incident (other than not having the necessary drill bits I should have had in my tool box).
There was only one problem...the fabric ordered was not correct! This was not a mistake on Jim's part.
This was an error on the part of Zip Dee...well, s...t happens, which requires an appropriate response.
Zip Dee took immediate ownership and sent the correct fabric.
I very much appreciate the attention paid to this situation by both Jim and the folks at Zip Dee which brought things to a VERY satisfactory conclusion.
Not only do we have a stunning awing, but are completely comforted to have people that will work hard to see that any issue is dealt with in a professional manor.

My best advice...Buy Zip Dee through Applied GMC,

note: I have a brand new 18' awning fabric in a tan color available at a reasonable price...contact me at 250-870-1048
