Hi Deb, tell you what,I am working on my GMC now after three years in storage where it decided not to run. We moved and repeated trips to Houston to get it drivable to our new location 100 miles away did not work, so I had it trailered here and am now working to solve a few problems before marketing it.
I will be selling it for under $10,000 once I have it up and ready. Further, I will drive it to Canada for you to decide. It is a 1974, 26ft, yellow GMC. The engine was rebuilt before we bought it. Mileage unknown but we have added 25,000 to it plus having the suspension rebuilt.
I have owned it since 2001 and have receipts for over $30,000 spent in maintenance and upgrades. I can send copies of the receipts by year to you. We paid $14,500 for it initially plus the $30k. It will come with brand new tires on 16 inch wheels(original 16.5 inch tires are getting hard to find-plus, if you have a blow out as I did with used tires(big mistake) you could get stiffed as I did with a $265 tire that was the wrong size. After that I bought aluminum wheels and new Bridgestone tires which never failed. However, the Aluminum wheels are reserved for the other GMC and will not be sold.
We are selling this coach to upgrade another GMC motorhome we already have as a result of my business of selling used GMC M/H parts. This one was upgraded by the prior owner whose son kept it after dad passed away.
The roof air is working fine after storage as is the fridge which was new in 2008. We had new carpet and pad installed before storing it and it has not been used-no dogs, nothing. I have runners down to protect it. Recently had the cushion covers dry cleaned and not installing them until all work inside is done. Will be checking all systems-furnace, water pump, lines and tank, electrical, plumbing, etc. Oh, under the carpet was parquet flooring. Unfortunately, it has stapple holes from the old carpet, but it is still there like an extra insulation for the flooring.
Please feel free to ask any questions about our coach or any other you may be interested in.
Today, I have asked other owners for assistance elsewhere on this forum with a mechanical issue.

My email is gemrecs@yahoo.com or cell phone at 713-373-7775. Thx, Michael

Well... Did it.. Found my coach. Although I won't be able to bring her up here till spring - not enough time to move her till the students are done, and by then it's mid-winter in the BC mountains Dead . So, it looks like April (maybe March if the weather takes a nice turn for me!)
Off the frame restore/reno, so many updates and upgrades, '77 Kingsley 403, wet-bath.

My thanks to everyone for their input, advice and suggestions. Hope to run into you on the road (not literally!) over the next few years. Cheers. Deb

You can't imbed an image. The administrator has set the size too low.

You can imbed a LINK (URL) in a post using the IMG feature. I recommend posting your pictures to the photo site ( http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/ ) and then linking as described in the sticky ( http://gmc.mybirdfeeder.net/GMCforum/index.php?t=msg&th=31075&start=0&rid=0 )

Out of Washington. Still haven't got her. Won't be till spring Sad No time and winter weather prohibit getting her up here.

Naming will wait until I have a chance to get to know her better.

Deb,

That is the idea. She knows her name already if you ask and she doesn't say but you have an idea, ask her if she likes yours. Some are shy.

Oh, and welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum.... (Just in case I didn't say that before.)

I hope you know that being the keeper of a GMC brings into a community like few others. This is why a GMC is not just another toy. Because of the community of amazing supporting and helping people, she will be a wonderful part of your life. Because this is a community so much like that of the watermen of my world, I have taken to welcoming new owners much as a new owner or vessel is welcomed there. Even though she is not coming home real soon, this still should be. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Deb.

Matt

Thank you Matt! I have felt very welcome by everyone I have encountered - support & assistance like I would never have anticipated, and had yet to experience before this. You don't have to be crazy, but it helps Wink

I very much look forward to meeting many on the road in the future. My travels will likely keep me in Canada for the first couple of summers (not retired YET!) but I do have a couple of folks already that I want to touch base with up here.
Once retirement hits in 2 more years, I expect I will see much more of the warmer climes of the US in the winter, and have a lot more roaming time to experiment with during the summer months too!

Regarding her name... I will let her tell me when she's ready, once we get to know each other.

All-though we live close by unable to show you at this time, we are in Sun lakes AZ until the 14 dec then off to Mexico for 3 mths, before heading north and home to Armstrong, will arrive around the 15th April. My first mate has broached the subject of age, and maybe its time retire from motor homing and move on to new adventures? If you are still looking at that time give me a bell at 602- 239-4132. My AZ # 480-326-5222. Good luck. Les /

Woudl that be a 124 Spider, Les? I owned a '68 version while I was stationed in Germany 1967-1971.

Mine had a smallish engine; maybe 1400 cc or so (don't remember exactly). I think Fiat put bigger engines in after mine.

I'm not a big fan of the new 124 Mazda version due to cost.

Might be interested in yours.

P.S. Attempted to send the above direct to email shown as originator below, but it bounced.

Thanks Les. You are doing about what I hope to be doing in 2 more winters - getting away from the snow! Thanks for thinking of me but I have found my coach. Haven't got her yet, but that will sort itself out come spring! However, that doesn't preclude me from wanting to see yours anyway when you get back to home base - always nice to looky-loo around and see what everyone else is doing with theirs..

Good to see another local. I will definitely be in touch once I have the girl in the driveway!. It would make a nice shake-down run for me! A few short trips around the "neighbourhood" before I look at the run back to Ontario to visit family.

Enjoy the sunshine
