How did GM get the oem copper one piece bands on?

I don’t remember exactly how but if I recall they had a loose fitting copper band and then ekectrucakkt induced a current into it which caused it to shrink tightly around the boot.
Does anyone know where this might be written up?

Chuck,

It was about this time that I saw a demonstration of both an electo-magnetic process and a mechanical process for doing this kind of thing. I believe I heard the EM people telling others that they had sold some to GM.

That doesn't look like something I can do on the RV pad in the yard. Wrap-Lok is gonna be the move.

What you want to use is Band-It straps (5422K53) and buckles (5422K53).
Those are too-large quantities (which I've bought a couple of times), but
the pre-assembled versions should be available at NAPA.

The tool can be as cheap as this:
