Anyone have a recommendation for a gps to install in an iPad? There are quite a few offered in the App Store and I got a $50 certificate. I simply like to use something big enough to see.

if it is about software, look at Here Maps

I have no clue about hardware offerings, 'cause I originally bought my
iPad(2) with cellular as that has GPS build in.

If you aren't married to Apple, check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 - even
the non cell version has GPS build in, it is fairly large at 7" and I am
using it successfully in my coach. Gets a bit warm but that's the only
draw back. You should be able to pick those up for less than 100USD

Sad thing about the iPad family, unless you purchase the cellular version, the iPad does not have an internal GPS chip set. The chip set is tied with
The cell phone (GSM) chip. You can purchase a cellular + WiFi version with unlocked GSM, but you are going to look very hard. We purchased one about a week ago. The seller had accidentally received a shipment of the cellular version, instead of just the WiFi version. I don't know if there is an outboard GPS available for the iPad.

There are in fact several. Here's just one source as low as $99 -
https://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=ipad+gps

Here are a few more -
https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=gps+receiver+for+ipad&tag=googhyd

I have no knowledge of any of them however, my company iPad is cell enabled
and the internal GPS works great in the air.
