Gary I really don't think the pump balance will effect the engine. At the rpm it turns it sure will have an effect on those little bearings in the pump with the rather large fan out there on an overhung shaft. If you don't balance that new pump impeller combination at some harmonic of normal speed your chances of premature bearing failure is very high. With all the work that goes into changing out a pump why not just buy the right one from the right supplier, unless you don't value your time.
