I have 78 Royale with rear bath. My Onan recently produced its final volt and I was told it would cost more to repair (if parts were available) than it's worth. I shopped around and decided to purchase a slightly used Onan KY 4.0 micro-quiet. I was told (by a reliable source) that it would fit with out relocating the two house batteries that are located in the generator compartment. Unfortunately this information proved to be wrong. I also have a chassis battery and a 12 volt deep cycle house battery up front on the passenger side. I decided to move the back batteries to the engine compartment on the drivers side and quickly found that I couldn't get the batteries to the drivers side due to some of the upgrades I have installed.
Now I have two new ideas:
1)Extend my rear bumper about 2 inches and build a compartment for my rear batteries between the bumper and rear of the coach
2)Buy a 3 battery tray from Jim K. and move the two golf cart batteries to the front and eliminate the 12 volt deep cycle.

I am seeking opinions and advice on which way go. I'm not very savvy when it comes to electrical things so I'm not sure how the batteries are all wired. I believe all the batteries are charged when driving and from the convertor, but I'm not sure. How do I make sure everything is working properly when I finally get it all back together. I did label all the wires when I took the power drawer and rear batteries out, so if I decide to keep the rear batteries, it should be a fairly simple install. If I decide to move them up front, what would I have to remove or install to make it all work?

I'm sorry to be a PITA, but I sure could use some advice and guidance from the gurus that understand this stuff. Thanks for any and all help you can provide.
