Hi Folks,
I was yesterday visiting the biggest/greatest European MH- and RVshow at the town of Düsseldorf. (Germany)
Very interesting and for one day to short to look at all the RV's, MH's, Tech- and Suppliers, which were present ...
If you're in the neighbourhood, during the end of august, beginning of september, don't miss it 
Sadly it ends this Sunday at 6.00pm

Hey Daniel,
I visited the Caravan Salon as well (on Thursday though). It was very
interesting to see the various offers.
My conclusion at the end of the day was: All European RVs are are much
narrower and quite a bit higher than the GMC on the outside. On the
inside, most where not as tall as the GMC, and camper types are very
cramped inside. We will see how October works out, where SWMBO and I
will rent a camper type (Hobby Vantana K65) for a week.
After that, we will decide whether we will get a 23' GMC to Europe or
the European "Kastenwagen" type.
One thing I liked a lot about the Caravan Salon was the hall with the
suppliers of stuff, like Truma, Dometic and the Italian companies that
build the bases for the RV furniture. One thing I liked a lot but have a
hard time finding lots of information about is a French company/product
Alden that supports Hifi, battery monitor, tank monitor, and light
control with an Android tablet.

Hello Peer,
Hé, we could have met each other ... I was friday there but had switch to other days, if I knew, thought you were still on the north-east coast, working in the USA.
That very interessting part of the show was: "Halle 13" 
I also spend most time there.
My interest goes mostly towards, the new LiFeYPo battery systems, hydraulic stabillising, compressor fridges, but all design stuff also is very nice to look at.
The day was to short, but I enjoyed it. Sadly my wife was ill so she couldn't join me.
If you are near the regio of Aachen (I live nearby in Landgraaf (NL) just give me a mail, we could meet up.
As for those sometimes crampy small european class A and B RV's, you're absollutly right.
And they even are makeing them even smaller again.
I am glad my MH is still 2,35 mtr wide. But as you certainly know, roads, towns and villages, makes driving big MH's more challinging (Uuuhhh ... Difficult word )
If you are renting the Hobby Vantana "... That will be very, very cosy )
Afterwards your DW will love the spacie the GMC gives you ...

As Lenze once said: look at the size of the garbage truck or the school
bus that reaches each and every remote location, so it shouldn't be too
difficult for similar sized RVs.

Those are true words 
And if the passage is impossible ... I'll backup ... No problem.
Once several years ago, french trucker were at a strike (the french do that often !!)
Not only setting up roadblocks but also there was a gas shortage, since they didden't deliver the gasstations anymore ...
First we got trough the roadblocks, they set up, so only cars could pass, they thought ... But by angeling I made it most times, with my 25' MH, and then they laughed and even applauded
But of course sometimes I had to backup, on one occassion, almost half a mile ... Curved route. Good training 
But north of the city of Lyon, we only had left a few liters of diesel so were forced to stop at a campsite, and sit the strike out ... After four days, thanks to a local, we managed to gather about 50 liter of diesel from a farmer who stocked some for its own farming/tractor use, and made it home for the rest of the 400 kilometers.
