Tomorrow is the ten year anniversary of me finding our '73 online, thanks to a Pacific Cruiser member I spoke with at Silver Strand who steered me to a GMC website, so it's looong overdue to ditch the cowboy portable 6 gallon gas container system. Yes folks, you read that right, although I never had to drive more than 24 miles to any given beach city or state park. One less potential disaster to worry about. I also just ordered a PD4590 for $297.50 online.

G'day,
JimB's body pads are round hockey pucks cut in half (horizontally), I prefer JimK's which are larger and rectangular which have
greater contact area with both the steel frame and aluminum body.

I liked Kerry Pickerton's idea of using 1/2" Horse Mat cut up into 4"x5"
squares. The 5" length gives full frame to body support and allows a screw
to be used to keep pad from falling out. Enough material to do 4 coaches.
What is left over can be used as a mat in front of work bench.
