Someone that I've known for years was talking to me about his GMC running hot. After telling me all the things he's replaced, or added. I noted that he mentioned flushing the inside of his radiator. But never said anything about cleaning out the air passages where the air passes thru the radiator coils. So I put an air nosal on his air hose. And blew air from the fan side toward the grille. The radiator air passages were full of dead bugs. Then sprayed a cleaner on the radiator, and flushed with water. Then went for a drive. Problem solved. Jim K at Applied GMC has a very nice screen that fits our GMC's radiator perfectly behind the grille. Think of it this way. All the bugs you clean off your windshield all the time. That's how many went in your radiator over all those years.
