As you can see in the picture the Onan is telling me to "Remove Hose for Ambient Temperatures above 50F"

Is it as simple and direct as that? It's going to be hot where I'm going so just take the hose off and leave it as is? Doesn't that bypass a filter of sorts?

Burning Man is going to be very dusty Smile

Are you saying you have a hot air heating for cold climate?

He is misreading something. DO NOT remove the air filter hose. They are referring to another hose assuming you have the extra shroud on the Onan that is the kit for cold weather running.
They are telling you to remove that hose in warm weather. It is doubtful if you have the cold weather kit.

It looks like that is the cold weather kit, and your filter is behind the Onan. The bottom ("corrugated") hose goes from the air warmer to the filter, and the other hose (smooth) goes from the air filter to the carburetor. If the air filter is in between those two hoses (not visible in the photo), you can disconnect the corrugated hose.

If the filter is not behind the Onan, is it contained in the box that says "Remove Hose for Ambient Temperatures above 50F"? If that is your air filter, you don't want to remove that hose.

Remove both ends of the ripple surface hose. Look in the end where the
smooth hose goes to the carb Left on picture. If you see a filter, put that
removed hose somewhere where you will not lose it as you will need it next
cold season.
If there is no filter in the canister..Get one.

Mike in NS...whoh would be happy to take that cold weather 'gear' off your
hands

Thanks everyone. I removed the hose. I do have a filter as I put it in in the spring. I see how it works...the house basically sucks air past the exhaust tubes thus warming it before...guess it is a cold weather kit.
