The threads on my Battery Boost Solenoid or stripped and it needs to be replaced. Will any starter solenoid work or is there something special with ours?

If it matters, mine is activated by momentary switch as installed in 1976

thanks everyone

Bounds has them at a pretty good price.

there are a few options, and some will tell you to just go with a combiner.

The key, is most amperage, and continuous duty as you can find in the platform. Cole Hersee is the brand I would prefer. Look at golf cart solenoids, or amazon:

Todd,

It looks like a Ford starter solenoid, but the internal connections are different and the one used there is made for continues duty. The fact is that they are real available in that configuration.

The NAPA Number is ST80 - They aren't cheap, but that is the right part. The other numbers come up as starter parts. I got to talk to Billy about that.

Keep October 22 open for the next GMC Lunch.

Matt
