This winter, due to where I had the coach parked after being towed home
with the dead trani, a rat moved in and chewed a lot of plastic items in
the coach (storage container, etc,) One of these things was the water
supply line to the kitchen sink. So, under pressure it has a very noticable
leak - more like a jet stream of water shooting out. Found the spot easily
enough and now am looking for how to fix it. This is the original black
plastic tubing that we couldn't find fitting for. Might just be them limit
stores I am working with, or ....? Does anyone have the answer for what
would work and where to get it?

Thanks in advance.

They also have the fittings on Amazon.com
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=qest+plumbing+fittings
they have the couplings in both 3/8 and 1/2’ sizes.

Check Home Depot for Qest fittings. You can likely just cut the line where the leak is an insert a Qest coupling fitting.

If they don't have it a Shark slip on coupler might work OK.

Faye,

Pex tubing and fittings will also work. Last week, I had a small leak in the
cold water tubing just downstream of the pressure regulator in the Airstream
motorhome I use during summers here in Alaska. It has the same black plastic
tubing (polybutylene?) as you described. The Pex fittings are compatible
with that now obsolete tubing. Sources at

Not sure if yours is the same, but in our coach there are two drainage valves attached to the water supply lines located behind the kitchen cabinet that you can get to by pulling out the drawer under the sink. If your lines are damaged between this valve and the faucet, it would be as simple as removing those plastic line(s) and replacing with a standard faucet supply line. In our case we used a pair of the stainless steel lines like these:
