yes, that connector was removed before i bought the coach in ‘99
so... its my fault that i trusted the AutoZone parking lot mechanic to know how to replace an alternator.
and then, when i went to swap it myself, not suspecting that those cables were the culprit.
So… its time to get dirty and do it again!

It is more than likely possible that the wire harness in your coach has
been altered. Not at the alternator connector but some where up stream from
there. I have seen a number harnesses that have an additional disconnect
that is not factory, but is there for the purpose of leaving the difficult
to access one on the alternator connected while removing the bolts and
belts from the alternator. When the alternator is free from its mounting
hardware, that connector is much easier to access. I have not seen your
coach, but if I were working on it, I would check the harness.
