John,

There is a good part NAPA number in the GMCMI parts book. If you can't get one easily, I could get one at my local warehouse and mail it to you as a used antique car part.

I got one of those and it works fine but I had to whittle quite a bit to get it to go through the square in the floorboard enough to click into place.

I believe we tried that few years ago and the connection to the carburetor
was not very satisfactory as I cannot have our customers to needing to
Jimmy Rig it to work.
Majority of our customers do not like to Jimmy Rig, so they order ad get
the parts that fit, sometimes they don't, and we need to reimburse them for
part and freight both ways.
Latest one has been with MOOG suspension parts.Correct # but wrong content.
We sent back 12 sets to the warehouse and had to pay more from another
source.

Just had the warehouse drop on of the cable your addressing.
Will take work to make it work and not desirable as there will be no
vibration isolation and the carb stud will wear.Metal to metal contact.
When you have choices, use something that will not tear things up when that
ore goes to e next guy.
