I'm cleaning out the grooves for my sliding windows.....toothbrush, vacuum, small amounts of water, etc. What's the best lubricant to use after the cleaning?

good question, and looking forward to what others have done.

I have used sil-Glyde:

I think it works good, but it is messy to apply where I want it to be.(in the tracks and not on the window)

Silicone spray the entire weatherstrip and repeat several times where the window slides, especially the bottom edge.

I have used Sil glyde for a few things as well. I found the white plastic tips from RTV tubes work on the Sil Glyde tube, and can make a grease needle of sorts to get it into tight spots. Like a window channel without too much mess.

I would not use that on the window sliders. It can attract dirt and grit that will actually cause the window to stick more. I would use a silicone spray which does not leave a “greasy” residue.

After I replaced the window channels on my coach a few years ago, I could barely slide the window (on the first one). After spraying the new channel with silicone spray, they slid easily. A regular cleaning and re-spray with new silicone spray lubricant seems to be keeping them working well.

I love easy things that make a big difference. I have some Si spray with a small tube for application (like a can of WD30)

Will be doing this over the weekend.
