I installed ALURE vinyl plank self locking floor in my
GMC back in 2012 and I love it. I live in Fl. and store the coach
inside. I installed it directly to the original bare, sanded, and
painted floor. I bolted the seats and couch to the floor( I drilled
the hole in the plank only a 1/8" bigger than the bolt. I have had
NO shrinking or buckling in the floor at all, nothing hurts it, it
cleans up very easy. I highly recommends this floor.
I recently sold our coach only because of my wife's illness.
I got a lot of help and ideas from all of you that helped me
build a great all electric modern coach that many of you have
seen at the rally's a few years ago. I miss it all ready. Thanks
So long for now

I had an red orange shag filthy carpet in our coach. I was scrounging
around Lowe's bargain sale racks and came across some solid bamboo snap
lock flooring. It is made of tubular straw shaped threads all glued
together into boards. No backer board and no plastic. Dulls carbide saw
blades. Dimensionally very stable and does not absorb water. I glued ends
and edges with waterproof adhesive, and nailed it down with a pneumatic
flooring nailer. Been there for years. Judy loves it. Easy to clean. Works
well for us.

Thanks for your input Jim And Larry!
I really appreciate your comments.
After this kind of input I am much more confident in what I need to do to go ahead with my project. While there is expansion and contraction going on the overall distance is only very small in contrast to a large room in a home. I've decided to use a stand off stratigy and loose fit for the seat belt bolts and dinette furniture and totally isolate the couch on the drivers side. I'll fill in the couch floor area once it is installed.

John, one more bit I omitted. The Royale has a raised platform under the
dinette as well as between the beds in the rear of the coach. I used a
short nap carpet in those areas as well as the steps to the cockpit. I used
a pet proof carpet underlayment under the carpet, which is all new
material, not recycled foam bits and chunks. It has a water RESISTANT
sealing layer on the top and bottom to HELP PREVENT liquids soaking into
the padded part. That makes it very well suited for motor home with
occasional leaks. It has been down for at least 6 years and many thousands
of miles, and up until late last year when I put up a permanent shelter for
the coach, was exposed to rainy Oregon winters. The bamboo covers the flat
floor areas including the dry bath. No problems. Bit of an echo, which you
will get from any hard surface. Enough to notice when you go from all
carpet to hardscape.

Thanks Jim.
I am a bit concerned about an increase in noise transmission in the coach. I Suppose some thicker throw rugs may settle that down. I like the idea of a double sealed underlay. It makes me wonder if I can have an underlay sewn into a throw rug.
Im glad to hear that you are happy with the product. It makes me more confidant Ishould be OK. While placing it down I did find it was a bit tricky to ensure it locked into place compared to other click type flooring. I looks real nice though.
