I am getting ready to install under dash air to augment the weak factory air in my 73. I have searched this forum for information on the T fittings I would need to get the job done. I have found some references to them, but no hard information. I would like to order the fittings and have them on hand before I start the job. I already have the under dash unit and hose. Does anyone have any guidance on the subject (part numbers)?

If you can find an older Suburban in a Men's Mall which has the optional rear A/C, it has all the fittings you need, plus the evaporator and fan.

G'day,
For those of you that DON'T have the unit yet I suggest you do an eBay search for: 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 mustang air conditioner
evaporator
Why you ask?
Because the current production aftermarket under dash A/C evaporators have 3 1/2 in blowers, the Mustang blowers are 5 in diameter,
they turn slower, move more air and make a lot less noise!

Make sure that the unit you choose does
1. Lets the hatch open
2. Is not tipped so much that the condensate pan leaks rather than drains.
3. The unit blows sideways enough to hit both front seats.

Matt - Not sure of the years, anything which fitted the A6 compressor should work, but I don't know which year dropped it in favor of the newer design. The newer tees would work, but off an A6 truck, it's pretty much a bolt - up. The trick is finding the rear A/c, they usually were only fitted on the 9 passenger models which were not real popular. All of my five MOpar minivans had rear A/C, two evaps and one compressor, so they ought to have the tees somewhere. I never went looking.

Matt is still uppper midwest. Those older GMC/Chevy Suburbans that had the rear A/C, are going to be tough to find. I would say early 80's up to 91, the older square front grill style that still had the dual leaf spring suspension/axles. Most junkyards up here crushed those already, and if they have not, the weather has got to them, and there is nothing worth salvaging on the interior anymore.
I have a jeep wranger unit that was an under dash deal, but have not had time to figure out if it can be retrofitted into my motorhome. Jeep Grand Wagoneers also have a nice unit under dash A/C unit that is separate from the heating side of things, has it's own fan, and switches that possibly could be fitted into a GMC.
Yesterday at 95 degrees in high humidity, I was running roof air and generator, and the drivers/passenger areas were uncomfortably hot. I think I need to add a fan to push more air to the front.... but maybe fixing up the dash air may be smart too. I also think getting around to having the windows tinted and more insulation will also be a big factor.

You should do the a/c modification for recirculated air in your 75. I gained 2 to 3 times more cold air in my 76 with this modification.

That is kinda on the list too. been a few years since I messed with the dash A/C. I am pretty sure my condenser is clogged up. no airflow at all with fan blowing full speed. Lots of things to fix before that, only seem to be an issue a couple trips a year.

I have not tried to open it up. from what I can tell, need to pull off the heater hoses and move them out of the way, along with the radiator overflow tank, windshield washer tank. and i was thinking some wires.
you will see questions posted I am sure, when It bothers me enough to be the next step in the process. Trying to make this year an off season for much work on the coach, and just keep it operational and enjoyable. my time needs to be spent either boating now, or getting my 73 thing on the road.

Anything above 50 and you would swear I was a snowman melting in the sun.
