I neglected to comment earlier on how much I am liking the Joe Gibbs 15-40 racing oil. It is laced with ZDDP and the engine exhibits a nice, cushioned sound while spinning happily at 2800 to 3000 RPMs with this 3.67 gearing. It stays cool up hill and down and the engine only gets shifted into second on long downhills. Up hill it is happy to purr in third at no less than 4" of vacuum and no less than 50 mpg if the road allows. I think I shifted into second once on a long steep uphill when the road would not support more than 40 mph.

We are now over 4000 miles and no evidence of using any oil and only a mildly darkened look to the oil on what is left of the dip stick. I also want to comment on the nice alum trans pan JimK is now selling. No evidence of any weeping like we experienced with the Ragusa alum pan. The trans oil is still at the full mark on the dip stick.

Normal disclosures, no affiliation with Joe Gibbs Oil or JimK, no compensation, etc.
