I have been searching everywhere online , as well as locally , to find a circuit board for a 1978 GMC Midas Vandura G35 with zero luck. The GM dealer had no luck either.
I was royally screwed over on this vehicle, and after attempting to get a refund, and being told no, I decided to go ahead and fix her up. I've put many, many hours into her motor and into salvaging the living area components ( it was riddled with rot and black mold and had to be totally gutted)
I am now trying to fix the gauges and I'm very short on funds ( meaning I cannot afford to buy a new cluster and wiring for $300) the circuit board copper appears to be intact, but it is very tarnished in spots. I've never soldered anything in my life and I'm unsure if I could or should attempt to seperate the plastic ( that has already come apart across the bottom anyway) ... So... My question to all of you... Can anyone give me ANY advice??? Is there any way to safely repair the board or does anyone have any suggestions as to where I may be able to find one??

Well, You have a different GMC motorhome than most of us on here. We are talking about front wheel drive Class A GMC motorhomes. But you asked a question so my thoughts are this.

Do you know for certain the wiring is good. or that the cluster is bad? Did you meter the wires to determine if you had power? Hate to take out a cluster if its a bad ground or damaged wire causing the issue. Is the entire gauge not working or only certain parts?
If you know for certain the gauge cluster is bad, Id find out what other Chevy or GMC gauge clusters are the cross reference for years and models? The dealer might know. Then start looking at local Junk Yards for a possible donor. Perhaps GM ran those in a number of trucks/vans, up until 19?? and it could be easier to find one.

Good Luck.

Ness, every run on that circuit has two ends, and they're accessible either in a plug or on an instrument. Take an ohmmeter and check for continuity on each one (0 ohms). Any that don't, simply run a wire between the connect points.
Hopwever, as someone said, it's probably common to a BUNCH of both GMC and Chev vans for a number of years. Hit the junkyards and go looking. Anything with A similar cluster ought to work. Cut the wires going to the plug(s) a few inches away from the plug, so that of you find differences in the plugs, you can convert with some crimp on splices.
It's a simple job, but a PIA to get it done... best case is find one like it.

Thank you for your response!
I am unsure how to test it. The plastic on the PCB has come apart and it is very badly tarnished. None of the gauges are working at all... I never thought to ask about a possible cross reference! I will definitely have to call tomorrow and inquire about that! I've been able to find several other printed circuit boards ... Just not one with my particular set of numbers.
I'm sorry to sound so ignorant... I've been learning as I go with this. I am a single mom who lost my husband a few years ago and decided life is too short to not travel as I've always wanted to... I got screwed over pretty badly on this RV and I'm making the best of it. I'm doing all the work myself and be never had to deal with anything in the dash of any vehicle before aside from a radio... I will definitely check my wiring now to ensure I don't have a grounded out issue... I will also call the dealer... Again... Thank you so much for your time!

Should I have the battery attached and the plug in the back when testing? Or test it out of the dash? I have it taken out at this point... Thank you for your time!

Continuity testing is done out of the van. Rather than bother the dealer, hit the local junkyard and ask for cross references. They have better information on what works where than the dealer. Tarnish doesn't hurt a thing, unless it has eaten through the copper. at that point you need a replacement or a piece of wire.
As long as the speedo works, you don't need a gas guage. You can get a temp and oil pressure and volts set from AutoZone or Orielly's for cheap, and forget the original ones if price is a problem.
Incidentally, where are you located? The forum lists your name in the location line,.

Here's an under 40 bux solution:

http://www.amazon.com/Sunpro-CP8091-Mini-Triple-Gauge/dp/B00029K00E/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1464908796&sr=8-4&keywords=auto+gauges

If you can't find a junkyard circuit that'll work, these are probably more accurate anyway. Every time the speedo rolls up another couple of hundred miles, stop for gas. Keep tinkering and learning - sweat equity s the only way to go.

I'm near Marietta Ohio...
I had been in contact with several auto parts stores with no luck... My speedometer isn't working either Sad ... I'm having issues finding the correct speedometer cables...( there are 3 on the unit... 6.6 v8 w/400 motor) hydrostatic transmission... I was thinking that since none of my gauges are working that , that might be the issue with my speedometer??? As I said... I'm kind of learning as I go.., Ive put all new hoses, new plugs and wires, rebuilt the Rochester 4brl carb, new transmission pan, new oil pan, new transmission cooler lines, new fuel lines... I'm beginning to wonder if maybe a grounded wire is the issue because the copper looks good... I will certainly test the PCB... lol I can change out a transmission but hand me an instrument panel and I'm stumped!

That's perfect! I may go ahead and go that route ! I figure if I can figure out my speedometer issue... Those gauges would certainly take care of the others! Thank you so much!

For a speedometer…

If what you really want to know is your speed - chances are you carry one around with you already (your smart phone!):

For example (I have't tried either of these):

iPhone:

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/speedometer-free-speed-limit/id557871911?mt=8

Android:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codesector.speedview.free&hl=en

There are LOTS of free apps that will tell you your speed.

Look at the three gauge sets on Amazon, the Bosch gets better reviews than the Sun. Pick one that fits your budget, and also check Wal-Mart and Autozone. Ever time you go two hundred map miles, buy some gas.
Next time, consider a GMC Motorhome. Better support Smile

According to this link that is a one year only board for a 78 GMC G model or Chevy CK model, both with rally gauges. Best bet would be to check junkyards for those vehicles.
