Would anyone like to hazard a guess as to the weight the interior of a 23
(or 26' coach for that matter)?

What I am trying to figure out is what a coach weighs with just the cockpit
(dash seats, etc.) and drive train. Essentially a coach with all the
interior gutted from the cockpit back except the flooring. Items missing
include:

Generator
Propane tank
AC units
Roof top pod
Ladder
All interior walls and plumbing
Carpeting
Window treatments
Interior walls and cabinetry
Interior lighting
Black tank
12 and 110volt coach electrics
Furnace and ducting

I am looking at having it shipped (its not drivable) several hundred miles
and the shipper wants a weight estimate.

I understand that there were a lot of different companies who fitted them
out, but I'm assuming the base weight of a 23 (1973) was approximately
10,500. Since mine is missing the interior, I am guessing it may be between
7000-8500. Does that sound reasonable?

I think you're about right, Tony. I'd probably tell him 8k. I'm really
surprised that Blaine doesn't have a scale to check it with. He's got
everything else! ;-)

Tony,

As we have a 73 23 that has been across a scale, it was 9460 with water, fuel and wife. As stripped as yours is, (now even missing a few pounds of staples) I can't believe that it could be over 8K#.

I remember reading on some GMC site that the "stripped" 26" transpose as delivered to the up-fitters weight was 7700 pounds. Nothing inside except driver's set.

I wish this had come up a month ago before the work rally. I would have brought my scales.

I am thinking that your 8000 number is high for a stripped 23.
