I've picked up most of the bits to begin the conversion process for electric wipers and cruise control and have been reading through all the great info on how to integrate to modern multifunction controls into our coaches. I'm planning a trip to the men's mall soon and I'm hoping others can comment on vehicles to get the upper column from.

In Ken Hendersons excellent manual for the conversion, Al Hamilton's write up is part of the appendix. He mentions 1990-1995 Astro and Safari vans are easy swap candidates. I've called around to local pull-a-part yards and there are none of those to be found. Same with the Lumina/Silhoutte/Transport DustBuster vans - got my wiper module from one of those, wish I would have grabbed the wiper arm and cruise bits at that time!

My cruise module is from a 90s full-size van.

We have lots of 88-94 GM full size trucks in the yards, pre-airbag. Has anyone used one of those with the wiper and cruise conversion?

Thanks guys!
Matt

This is one of the very informative write ups I'd be using once I get my hands on the proper column.:

And a slightly updated version:

The few wiper arms I saw at the mens mall were rusty junk. Bought two brand new ones from PepBoys/Ebay:

Now only one left for sale. Grab the washer nozzles from the mens mall. They're common to a lot of vehicles.

Thanks JP. Good tip on wiper arms. I'm not ready to swap the arms yet, just possibly the column to take advantage of the multifunction switch.
