FWIW, free headliner substrate is available in many states.

I used Hull Liner over political signs for mine. It worked great.

Using acetone to prep the material for adhesive is recommended.

Mine is a combination of “McGeehan for State Senate” (he won’t be running again), a WVGOP slogan sign that they won’t be using again.

One sided signs work best, although I had no problem with the two sided signs.

Is that the 1/4" open core plastic sign material?
If so, that's what I used in my GMC.
Then I glued 5/15" pine wainscoting boards to it.
I'm after the old yacht look. Very Happy

lol. In 2015, I lost my bid for Pulaski Co, VA Commissioner of the Revenue. I'm stapling my signs in the garage for insulation and taping obsolete sailing maps on top for looks. In 2019, they come down and go out on the road again. After that, we'll see!
