To Bean Station, TN and back for the Dixielanders annual work rally. ~~440 trouble free miles. (Well, a CD jammed in the radio but geez...) Over Culowee Mountain between Sylva and Franklin NC both was. The coach walked over it like it was a minor inconvenience at 42 - 45MPH each way. A mile of 8% one way and 7% the other way plus about three miles each of 5% grade. It never slowed enough to want second gear, went over both ways in drive with the fan cycling off and on and the temp gauge at 1/4 scale max... Digipanel said 175 - 180 both engine and transmission. No toad this trip, so it did nearly ten both ways for mileage.

Bean Station was good times and good friends and 40 some odd GMC coaches plus a couple or three diesel pushers and Stick Miller in his impressive Bluebird WanderLodge.I put my Patterson oil fill elbows and a new upper radiator hose on my coach with Chuck Boyd holding the refill funnel after the hose went on. Healed an Onan, traced the remote wiring for another, and got informed there are two Onan circuit cards headed my way for rehab. Good food, good company, good but chilly weather. What more can ya ask for... do it again next year.

Thanks Johnny. I always enjoy your reports. Wish I lived closer and could make the legendary Bean Station rally one year.
