'Found several Internet citations that long intervals of little/no use is a major contributing factor in non all-steel tire failures in motorhome use. Trucks in commercial service using BFG Commercial TAs (and equivalents) rarely have the failure problems I had. They "wear out" before they fail. My GMC Royale is often not moved for as long as six months. I thought being stored in a dark sealed garage would allow safe tire service of seven years or more - maybe as long as the "all steel" Goodyear "G159s". No more...

sorry to hear that bad news. But good that noone was hurt.
I wonder: How often did you drive that coach? I had heard that one of
the culprits with tires is not moving them enough.
