Hi, Dominik,
The Zipcode is so they can make some kind of guess at what cell carrier
works in the area you're going to be in.
When prompted to enter your zipcode use 65046 (Jamestown MO) or 76825
(Brady TX) for AT&T
or
73949 (Texhoma OK) for Verizon
ATT and Verizon are most common in the US. Verizon has best coverage in
the entire US, while ATT is best in certain areas. TMobile and Sprint
are OK in certain areas, but are absolutely useless in much of the
country. Best bet is to ask folks in the areas you're going to visit
what they have, and how good the coverage actually is.
If the Tracfone you want to buy is listed as "one rate" long distance and
local are the same rate. www.tracfone.com
You can buy a Tracfone from many large stores ranging from supermarkets
to general stores. Target, Best buy, Office Depot, etc. or you can order
on line from Tracfone.
