Karen,
Yes we sell and stock them.
There are 2 versions; one is the large one and other is a smaller one.
They are both manufactured by Frank Jenkins, ad we sell them at the same
price.
Since I get around the USA at most of the function and have a strong
relationship with vendors we are privileged to stock their parts and kits.

Karen,
These are great cosmetic upgrades to your coach and Franks fiberglas work is excellent. If you want a front air dam spoiler that actually works and help keep the air flow into the radiator then this would be a good addition and yes it is also sold by Jim K. It is not as pretty as the [painted to match fiberglas units, but it does work!

Subject: [GMCnet] new front spoiler/air dam???
looking at the Dothan pics, I see three coaches with what looks like the
same front spoiler/air dam under the front bumpers. Is somebody making these for sale?
First I've seen them. We've talked about trying to come up with something similar,
but no need to reinvent the wheel if one is already out there:

Anybody know who makes these? Do they help much with air flow?
thanks,

Karen, If you are interested in improving the air flow thru the radiator, take a look at a 78 model. GM added air flow guides to the sides of the radiator frame to direct the air to the radiator. This is a simple modification to make and install. I did this to my coach, finishing just before current trip. I believe that it helped.
I used some dense foam flooring product from big box store for flexible dams, backed up by sheets of aluminum to control the deflection of the rubber.
P.M. me a mailing address, and I'll send you paper full size patterns that will get you close. When I return home from Bean Station of course.

The air control panels were added in 1977 about the time the switch over to the 403. The testing that I did with Arch both coaches had the air control panels. Ken H designed and built an air control radiator duct layout and there is a photo album that show along with material recommendation.

Look at all the pictures and read all the captions, nicely done!

JR, the testing you did with Arch, is that documented somewhere? I have his coach now without panels. He documented so much on the the photo site, but no mention of air control panels. Thanks

I installed similar panels fabricated from 1/4" plywood and saw an average
temp drop at highway speeds of about 20 degrees. I had been running in the
210 range prior.

Thanks Tom, I already have side panels. Made them out of scrap bits of the textured plastic ceiling/wall material (pcv?), which is holding up well so far.
Still need to do the upper and lower air dams though.

Don,
I designed this spoiler after a GM spoiler used on a number of late 1990 cars. It forces air up into the radiator creating a negative pressure underneath the car that draws the hot engine air back out of the engine compartment. As for testing it was before and after observational testing on 2 coaches over 2 years, 2000 & 2001 and 10000 miles total for both coaches for all years. Arch went out west in consecutive years, the first without the spoiler installed and got with him during the winter and ask if he would install it on his coach for the next trip out west. On the first trip without spoiler he notices that the fan clutch was cycling regularly and the temp was moving up and down about 5 to 8 degs over thermostat rating. On the second trip, same time of year and approximately the same ambient temps the coolant temp locked in on 180 and the fan clutch cycled very rarely, same fan clutch and thermostat. The second year with my coach with same thermostat and fan clutch I experienced the same results. Arch said he was impressed how well it worked and by the way you're not getting it back! We have sold to 50+ units out there and have never hear of any complaints. I have only replaced 2 blades over the 14 years, one who had run off the road and tore up the front of his coach and one this spring for a fellow GMCGL member who digested a very large road alligator. All I can say is they work and have been copied by several GMC’ers.
The pictures are from the original installation on the first coach.

Double click on the first slide are the instructions. They are sold thru Jim K.
