Gotta love the gold velour...
76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center...

I just yesterday had a visit from a very nice one of those. A young lady
and her father brought it for me to look over and educate them on. They
recently spent $6 having front bearings (w/knuckles), etc. done on it.
Still had 16.5" tires. On the way the left rear developed a big tread
bulge. I advised them to either mount the spare or drive very slowly the
remaining 40 miles. They did the latter. When they arrived, we allowed
the 120 lb young lady to change it herself (except for a couple of lug nuts
her 120 lbs on the end of the 3' cheater pipe wouldn't loosen). She's
planning to travel alone, so needed the experience. What she didn't need
was to get only 10 miles before blowing the spare. :-(
Only a little mud flap damage, but they had to come get my spare to get
them home. Best I can tell, the date code on the blown tire was 315
(1993's 15th week?)!!!
Photos of her changing the tire were posted on Facebook -- forwarded to me.
But the '74 Eleganza SE is very nice; well maintained by someone with
moderate upgrading over the years; she should be able to travel in it with
little trouble.
