Guys,
Go to the man who knows, call Ken Guske at Eight 1 Zero nine 2 Three-five 7 eight 8 or on his cell at five 8 six five 3 zero-0 three 7 four. It is also important that you have the right size string, using a large string can cause issues. Not as hard as it looks.

I restrung several, but some of them were too far gone. The brass bushings
were too green to save.

If anyone needs strings, springs and supplies, hit me up. I'll send you
what I have left over.

Gary,
You live about 20 minutes from Ken Guske place (he lives in Port Huron) and you can get any supplies from him and he can show you how to restring your blinds.

Today I replaced one of the 3 strings in one of our Hunter-Douglas cellular
blinds. An almost trivial job except for the removal and re-mounting.
After 17 years, that's the first repair they've needed. The other two
strings looked so good I didn't bother to replace them, even though I'd
bought 50' of 9mm braided cord (at an absurd price+shipping) for the 6' job.

After all those years, these blinds still look like new, are easily dusted
(which is all the cleaning they've ever needed), and provide excellent
thermal insulation. Since they're plastic coated, they're not damaged by
the infrequent leak over one of the windows -- and they deflect the rain
down the wall instead of letting it drip on the bed. Their only possible
shortcoming is that they admit NO light thru the aluminum foil liner in the
cells. I understand later versions are available which can be lowered from
the top to admit light while retaining privacy. They may even be available
with translucent sections.

I'm Sorry, I just have to....
It is so rare that KenH makes a mistake (even a typo) that I have to get on this one.

Ken,
I think you mean 0.9mm (0.036")(about 70# as braided nylon fishing line). Wink

With all love and respect.

Well, I wanted it to be STRONG! :-) (You're right, of course - but what's
a period among friends?)
