I recently purchased four of Justin Brady’s retrofit LED can lights to replace a mish-mash of early LED puck lights in the rear lounge area of the Royale in preparation for leaving for Alaska the first of the month. At $6 each they are a real bargain. The color temp is a nice warm white (I am guessing around 3000 degrees Kelvin) , no glare and very bright. Much nicer than the stuff I took out and I paid a lot more for those early LED puck lights. I installed them by cutting a 3 3/4” hole where the puck lights were under the overhead cabinets. I used a Roto-Zip cutter after marking the holes with a template. The material under the overhead cabinets in the Royale is simple 1/4” walnut plywood so the Roto-Zip makes short work of what otherwise could be a difficult cut to make. Messy though, so be sure to have a vacuum handy. These retrofit can lights have spring fingers that hold the fixture into the hole securely and easily. Each light draws a bit less than 4 watts (around 0.3 amps dc) so they are easy on battery power or converted shore power.

That rear lounge area is great for hanging out, reading, listening to music or watching TV. At night it makes into a larger than king sized bed. These lights provide a very nice ambiance. When you want it romantic back there you can turn on the twinkie lights over the roman shades…... If you open one up one of these retrofit can LED lights you will find a cast metal housing with LED strip lights around the inside edge and a nice diffuser panel. Hence, no glare. The can surround is white in color but looks just fine against the walnut. There does not appear to be any kind of power supply built into these fixtures as they were designed to be powered from a multi-AC voltage wall wart. Only time will tell if they hold up well to the wide DC voltage the inside of our GMCs experience. I have had no issue with the apparently similar LED strip lights inside the Royale or the Clasco so expect these will do just fine.

Good find, Justin. Thanks for making them available for us.

I installed them from the first bunch he sent out. No problems at all. They are voltage sensitive, the brightness varies slightly with changes.. but it isn't annoying.

Appreciate the reviews Jerry and Johnny!
I just ordered 200 more lights, should be in shortly if anyone needs any.
