Check out the pricing at SD Truck Springs on the Wireless Air Systems...

http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/air-compressors/air-lift

I think this is the one that we would use on our coaches?

http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/air-compressors/air-lift-air-compressors/wireless-air-72000

I haven't seen this stuff priced cheaper anywhere else?

Thanks,

Steve

The one without the compressor is the same model 25870. Didn't look for the compressor one.
Id get a Viair compressor to go with it. The airlift ones are low duty cycle and low quality from all my research.

Justin,

The Air Lift 72000 is the correct model. It come with a hand held controller that allows the air pressure for each bag to be set independently. The model 25870 does not.

I have been using my 72000 Wireless Air System for almost 5 years. Our Royale driver side Quadra bags need almost 20 psi more pressure than the passenger's side bags because of the Onan, closet, refrigerator, stove etc. all being on that side. You have to have a controller that allows you to independently set the proper air pressure on each side to get the correct ride height.

Is this a good upgrade on the EL11's when the optical sensors and the air compressors start to go out? Thanks, scott

Scott,

It has been great on our 1978 Royale which had the ELI Air System. Really doesn't matter if it has ELI or ELII. The Wireless Air System works best with stock style air bags. It is limited to a maximum of 10O psi. The limit is programed into the Wireless Air Manifold. No simple way to reprogram it. That can be a problem with Quadra Bags, but if you have stock bags they run at a lot lower pressure. No problem at all. If want to lower the pressure even more add bag extenders like Jerry Work.

We don't dry camp so I am rarely parking the coach on extremely unleveled ground. So leveling the coach at RV parks is never a problem. Meaning that I don't need to get up to 100 psi in the bags to level the coach for sleeping.

Applied Air sells the Wireless Air System with a proper air compressor all assembled into a Kit ready to drop into a coach. Jim Hupy supplies them to Applied Air. For further technical info you could contact him.

Like I said in a previous email, we have had the Wireless Air System in our coach for almost 5 years. It has worked great. The nice part is the system is so simple. There are only three wires to connect, not thirty some wires like the ELII System. So much simpler if you ever had to troubleshoot the System.

Time to go finish packing my rear wheel bearings. The Western States Spring Rally in Temecula is coming up soon.

I do not think you can make the assertion that the wireless air works the
best with an Oem airbag system. Wireless air control likes lower air
pressure. Since average operating pressures of the Sullybilt kit are around
the 60psi range it is naturally suited for a controller which prefers sub
100psi numbers. If your Oem airbags/control system/ compressor are
unreliable then replace with Sullybilt bag system, schraders/ wireless and
camp.
Obviously biased message.

I think that the wireless system works well with any system that requires
less than 100 psi. I have installed it on all three GMC systems, and the
Sullybag system as well. As long as the system voltage is equal on both the
compressor circuit and trigger circuit it works reliably. I don't much have
a preference, but the sullybag system is attractively priced if you need to
replace the bags. If money is not a consideration, the quadrabag system
combined with the reaction disc brakes is great. If you do need more than
100 psi to come to ride height, you have an overloaded coach in my opinion.

Todd,

I agree with you. Poor choice of words on my part. The Wireless Air system would work well with your Scully Bag System. It will work fine with any system that uses less than 100 psi.

I think the point here is
IF YOUR OEM AIR SYSTEM WORKS
DONT FIX IT
BUT
http://gmcmotorhome.info/wireless.html
if it breaks, leaks, you run on schrader valves, etc..

you need to go to an END POINT GMC SOLUTION
for the next 40 years

The point is
- you are already there

After scouring the interweb and crunching numbers from the SD truck springs website, to me it looks like a no brainier.. My EL11 system is the most expensive of all the systems to try to rebuild as original. Also comparing prices and qualitity, bang for the buck without sacrificing quality, the one that makes sense to me is the one Jim K sells at applied that was designed by Jim Hupy.
More expensive than the one from SD truck springs, but by the time you Replace some of their pieces (air tank, bigger compressor, etc) applied' will be cheaper in the long run. I look forward to being able to level my coach at a campsite sitting in a lounge chair, with a martini. Maybe technology sometimes is not so bad!!!
