Has anyone had the Onan float level change due to swelling of the rubber seat for the float valve?
Just curious as that appears to be what happened on my 4kw.

Thanks
Dennis

Don't you just love "reformulated" fuel?
There is a Viton replacement seat for the walbro carb used on many Onan
engines. Kinda hard to find. Jim K. might be able to help you. He is an
Onan dealer.

I thought perhaps the rebuild kit might include an ethanol resistant seat.

Dennis,

It took me a while to find the cracked rubber seat. Lots of taking things apart.
I needed one sort of fast, so I got a standard kit for a Walboro LMB from a friend's small engine shop.
The needle was rubber tipped as is more common these days.....
But...
I forgot that most LMBs are on engines that are gravity fed, so the port in the seat was WAY huge and it couldn't stop the pumped fuel pressure.
It didn't take me as long to find the same problem a second time but still lots of taking apart.
I plugged and redrilled the seat. Not a cost effective operation even with a tiny lathe.

JimK probably has the right kit.

Matt

After I reset the seat and tweaked the float tang I got the float to spec. So, I'll put the kit on my list for the next order.
Thanks
Dennis
