I rented a warehouse space to a muslim. He stopped paying rent at the end of January. The reason is unbelieveable. Then got that unit in violation of city building, and fire codes. Another unbelievable story. Took him to court. He never showed up. So I won the court case. He then got mad at me because I had paid off the judge. So to get revenge. He took out water, and electrical fixtures. Damaged the heating system. Took down the ceiling grid, and ceiling tile. Removed all my work benches. And I've got 2 dump truck loads of trash to haul out. The police say it's a civil matter. No use in taking him to court. As he has nothing here, or in Seria. I had lost about 6 days of work on the GMC before the court date with him in Feb, and March. Now this. I'm sorry to some of you. But I worked my ass off to go to Dothan. I've been putting in 12 to 14 hrs a day to go. With the garbage he put in there. I have to clean this mess up for the comfort of the great other tenants in the building. Right now I'm mentally broken. On the bright side. Branson is just about 10 weeks later. I need to get a GMC grille to Tom McManus. Anyone coming by Cedar Rapids Iowa on there way to Dothan?

Theft, fraud, malicious destruction of property are legal issues in most places. It may be that the local PD are afraid to rock the boat.
I suggest that you look up a local attorney. Many Bar Associations have a "Talk an Attorney" program with a very low cost for a first consult.
It is a shame that you have to take the hit, but remember it at tax time.

That is very upsetting. If a person has time to sue to make a point, is one thing, but to sue to get money, usually you end up on the loosing end. At least that is my real world experience as well.
I am sad this did not work out for you to be complete by now, as I was really hoping when I was watching you hammer away at a project that would take the normal person decades to complete. Dothan is quite the trip for a shakedown, maybe situation is meant to be as Branson will be a much shorter shake down run.
Maybe we need to set up a work rally and only work on one coach at your place before Branson.

Bob I sympathize with your situation. But I wonder why you found it necessary to say you had rented to a Muslim? Do you believe his faith had anything to do with it?
I doubt Muslims are more likely to be thieves than any other religion, probably less so, in fact. Remember in some Muslim countries stealing will get you one less hand for the rest of your life.
If your renter had been a white protestant would that have been the first thing you noted in your report?

Your message implies that Bob is a racist. That is far from the truth. He has rented to Hindus, Blacks and others and has never had the problems he had with this renter. He and I have discussed his problems a few times over the last few months. The renter kept telling him that he did not have to follow US law as his religion only had Sharia law and it didn’t matter what Bob felt. So, yes, his faith had a lot to do with it.

Bob, sorry you can't make it to the rally. You have worked very hard
against tall odds, given it a huge effort, and outside forces have
conspired to defeat you. You have my sympathy. Remember the "B" words the
next time you lease your property. "BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, BOSTON, MASS.
BURKA, BOMBERS. But, gee, perhaps maybe I might be a bit cynical. I owned
a rental property and leased it to my lesbian niece. She had a cat. She
was also an employee of my flower shop. Gave her a break on the lease by
letting her live there at 1/2 the going rate for the property. She left
the cat loose in the house while she was at work. It did at least
$25000.00 in damages. Had to remodel the house after I evicted her. Didn't
make any friends with that move, but it was necessary. Never so glad to
sell something in my life. Bad deal all around. Would I rent to another
lesbian niece with a cat? Not likely. Does that make me prejudiced? Nahh,
just snakebit and twice shy.

Sounds like the kind of thing I’d have a chat with my city council member about. This guy destroyed your property, and stole your stuff. That’s a criminal offense. If the cops won’t enforce the law, then I’d appeal to the elected official who a) counts on my vote and b) is most closely involved with the police budget.

to "infidels" which means anybody other than another muslim.
So yes, his so-called faith does call for the lying, cheating, stealing, etc.

I wouldn't have mentioned his religion. But he was the one that used his religion to defend what he did. He made it very clear to the city of Marion Police, building, and fire departments that they had no jurisdiction over him. He would only obey sharia law, and the couron. He refused to appear in our state court. So he lost. County Sheriff department had to literally force him out today. Wasn't pretty. So I don't feel that I was being prejudice to him by mentioning his religion. As that was his major point. His religion. We all have the right to practice as we see fit. And in this case. His laws were in conflict with our city, county, and state laws. I'm looking into court action. Everyone brings peace, and joy to my life. Some coming, some going. Bob Dunahugh

I rented a warehouse space to a muslim. He stopped paying rent at the end of January. The reason is unbelieveable. Then got that unit in violation of city building, and fire codes. Another unbelievable story. Took him to court. He never showed up. So I won the court case. He then got mad at me because I had paid off the judge. So to get revenge. He took out water, and electrical fixtures. Damaged the heating system. Took down the ceiling grid, and ceiling tile. Removed all my work benches. And I've got 2 dump truck loads of trash to haul out. The police say it's a civil matter. No use in taking him to court. As he has nothing here, or in Seria. I had lost about 6 days of work on the GMC before the court date with him in Feb, and March. Now this. I'm sorry to some of you. But I worked my ass off to go to Dothan. I've been putting in 12 to 14 hrs a day to go. With the garbage he put in there. I have to clean this mess up for the comfort of the great other tenants in the building. Right now I'm mentally broken. On the bright side. Branson is just about 10 weeks later. I need to get a GMC grille to Tom McManus. Anyone coming by Cedar Rapids Iowa on there way to Dothan?
