Can you help me understand the problem with posting pics on FB, etc? I
like all the ways we can connect with like minded people and do not want to
limit my interactions with appropriate content if there is no harm. I like
seeing pics and sharing pics. We have virus and malware programs running
on all of our devices... what are we not aware of? Where is the harm?

Do not add any photos of any sort. Google and Facebook have become among
the leaders in applying AI to photo recognition and can now programmatically
determine content, approx time & date, and location from the subject of the
photo. And that's without accessing the *easy* metadata stuff contained
within the photos binary --GPS, Caption, and Timestamp, Tagging, and
massive amounts of other data that is now being embedded in your photos.
Search
on EXIF, IPTC, XMP, ...nevermind, read here
http://www.photometadata.org/META-101-metadata-types

and here
http://www.photometadata.org/META-101

In short, much of who you are and even where you live can be and is being
extracted from your photos without your knowledge. This type of
data-gathering is being ramped up a lot now because it circumvents Europe's
new-ish cookie-killing laws.

Don't believe it anyway. People ask me about things I say in my newspaper column. I simply say, "never believe anything you read or hear unless you can personally verify its accuracy."

Too bad we have to live that way, but that's life.

You can publish what you want, but please never print my name or pictures of me, m car or my dog. Everything is public and I like to decide what is public about me ( I know it is a illusion)

Dunno, sounds like a leaky tin foil hat to me... General polite rule of thumb is not to post pictures of others without asking first.

Let's see. Three of the biggest lies. "Yes, of course I'll still respect
you in the morning. " "The check is in the mail." and finally, "Of course
you can trust me, I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you." And
the newest one, "The F.B.I. doesn't have the capability to unlock apple
software."

The problem is
- with out publishing your seminar notes
- the seminar did not happen
- us 20 year members got nothing for our dollars
- 2 members heard about swapping mc resorvores
- most got it wrong
- none of the rest got out
- good work
- it just did not happen!!!

Public media is the answer

Lol Im not exactly young but I really hope I don't get this paranoid when I'm older Smile

I used to work for IBM and I heard about things that would make you guys explode! Rest assured
the Gov. can and likely already does know as much about you as it wants to....and apple, google and your
phone company know even more.

Point is they really couldn't give a damn about any of it, all they want to do is make money selling ads.
There are 7 billion people on earth and frankly none of us are half as important or interesting as we think we are.

Life is way too short to worry about foil hat things like this.
