I really thought that I had come to the point that I had seen everywhere a mouse could possible ever get into. There eating a hole in the rubber gas tank fill tube connections. Then building a nest in the tube. Then to find the same thing done to the engine oil fill tube. These were over the top for me. When I started this project. I said that everything would get rebuilt down to the smallest detail. So the starter was on the schedule for today. And YES. There was a nest in the starter drive housing. And the round bellhousing cover was in place. So the 78 GMC Royale retains its states as the Mouse House with honors.Bob DunahughProud owner of the true Mouse House.

I have a pantry with bi-fold doors that have about 1/2" to 1 " clearance
under them in my house. We used to have an indoor cat that lived in the
pantry area. Her food dish and water dish was near the bi-fold doors. For a
long time the cat would only snack at her kibbles, and leave some for
later. Suddenly, her food bowl became empty. Judy and I both noticed that
she seemed to be eating much more kibbles, so we kept her bowl filled up.
In the mornings, it would be empty again. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?? Judy went
to get some holiday dishes from the pantry in preparation for company
dinner, and was surprised to find the top bowl full of kibbles. This was on
a shelf that was at least 5 feet from the floor. Upon closer inspection,
nearly all the dishes on all the shelves were nearly full of kibbles. We
unloaded all the shelves thinking that we would find a big mouse nest in
there somewhere. Nope, no nest present, and no holes chewed through the
walls either. But how did the kibbles, (thousands of them, each one a
single trip for a mouse) get up 5 vertical feet to the empty bowls? Judy
envisioned a mouse bucket brigade, standing on each others shoulders,
passing the kibbles from one mouse to the other for thousands of kibbles.
Those mice had to avoid the cat, as well as us, to move all that cat food.
Still scratch my head wondering how they got that done. Cat is long gone
now, and her replacement cat is a constant hunter, always leaving prizes
for me on the door mat. Mice, I hate 'em. They stink, and carry all sorts
of illnesses. But, you got to admire their perseverance. My laugh for today.

When Helen and I adopted Shadow and Stumpy in Hong Kong we'd find presents just outside the back door quite frequently. They would
catch mice, rats, voles, and moles and leave them there for us.
It was rather harrowing for Helen as the remains were almost always missing their heads. Evidently rodent head is a cat delicacy!

Shadow made it to 16 and Stumpy 19.
