I need to make some simple brackets for my air ride system
simple brackets, flat plate with some holes, but too complex for my drill press as some holes are not round

Any suggestions?

You need to find a small shop that does not mind doing such .
Most larger shops are geared for big runs and cannot accommodate one or two.
Even we have a tough time getting or suppliers to accommodating us on
prototype.

Keith,

Check with your local machine shop. If they don't have one, they will know
where one is.
You might look into a CNC milling machine. Programming will be expensive
either way.

I tell ya you might want to find a shop or someone with a plasma cutter for the plates then use a step drill bit for the holes. The plate edges may be a little rough but some belt sanding afterwards should clean it up. Just what I did.

Ickler machined a really custom light mount for Jeff's BMW. they are good people.

if plasma may work, I know Midway iron in town does CNC plasma.

Keith, I send another guy I know a message. He has a local guy with a waterjet cutter, but I don't know if the guy is open to side work or if he does favors for my friend. I'll post up when I find out.

I make non-round holes by drilling one or more holes inside the shape and then clamp it in a vice and start filing with round or square or rectangular files.

Hey Keith - the guy I know is asking if you have it in a CAD file or anything.

I picture something scrawled on a napkin. Am I close? Razz
