For those who still have the clutch screws holding up everything in your Avion, Ace Hardware carries a screwdriver bit for you. Ace Screwdriver Bit # 2058766 is the part number. Ace opened a new store in our town and it was on the shelf.

Looks like a standard T10 torx, which -until fairly recently- was pretty hard to find. Lately, deck-building is moving into using small torx screws for finishing. If tx10 and t10 are the same, you might check the deck screw section in Lowes. I just saw the bits in my local store on a new display.

It is not a TORX! If anything, it looks like a bowtie.
Just saying.

OK, got it. One image I found was showing a pix of tx10 torx by that part #. I try to keep a full complement of security screw bits. If I don't have it already, I'll stop by Ace this morning.

It is a clutch head. GM used to use them to fasten voltage regulators to
the firewall on systems that had generators on the engines. Back in the day.

Ace hardware and the big box stores carry them as well as HF. There are 2 or 3 different sizes of the bit and it does look like a bowtie from the working end. They are all over inside the Avion Model.

That is called a Clutch head. Commonly used back in the 60’s and 70’s on trailers and motorhomes.
My 1969 Dodge Travco and my 1972 Dodge Travco used them everywhere. I still have some screws in my junk boxes and about 3 screwdrivers and some clutch bits in my tool box.

I own the kit Guy posted above. It's in the Royale. I wondered why the guys at the co-op were borrowing it so often. It went on sale for something like $7 at HF Orlando, so I gave them a couple.
