Dave Gardner here. Thanks for the inquiry Steve.
All went well, though I needed to put the pedal to the metal and get home rather quickly for the last half of my trip, as my mother needed some help in Northern Ca. That coupled with lousy internet coverage at times made it difficult to post. The trip went fine for 3000 miles aside from needing to replace the fuel filter next to the engine. It did surprise me that in those 3000 miles I didn't need to add a bit of oil I kept hearing that they burned a quart every 1000 miles on average.
I'm back home now and hope to add some more of the travels to the blog soon.
Regards to all
